The A-Train Difference

Complete Your Online Coursework and Field Training All Under One Roof

Becoming a licensed Professional Home Inspector in Texas requires TREC-approved education plus supervised field experience — 194 hours of TREC-approved training in all: 154 hours of coursework plus a 40-hour field practicum. A-Train covers both in one enrollment — the coursework and the field hours — so you never have to piece the two together yourself.

Our online modules cover the full TREC curriculum at your own pace. Then, through our statewide partner inspection network, we schedule your 40-hour practicum on real homes across Texas — most students complete it in about a week. No cold-calling inspectors begging to ride along. It's built into the program.

I can't give this place enough credit for helping me get my license. If you have the pleasure of getting to deal with Blake directly consider yourself lucky. He was my main contact through everything and he just made it work. Need a test on a Sunday, done. 9pm and the app isn't working, fixed.

As a licensed home inspector in Louisiana, I went into this class with low expectations, and honestly, this school blew all of my expectations out of the water. Every inspector I was paired with was so knowledgeable and professional. 10/10 recommend!!!

I have taken trade specific training courses frequently over the years but can honestly say I have never learned so much practical information in such a short time. My instructors were Wyatt and Scott, both took the time to tailor my instruction to the questions I ask.

Inspection Support Network (ISN)

Our ISN Partnership

What Comes With Your Training

Passing your exam is one thing. Actually starting work is another — and that's where most new inspectors stall out. Through our partnership with Inspection Support Network, every A-Train student gets the software, the coaching, and the practical extras that turn a finished course into a working business.

Free ISN Software During Training

ISN is the software working inspectors run their business on — writing and delivering reports, scheduling jobs, handling client communication, and managing the day-to-day admin. Your access is free while you're training, so you learn the tools on the same platform you'll use on the job. When training ends, you keep going at discounted partner-student pricing.

90 Days of E&O Insurance, Paid by ISN

ISN covers your first 90 days of Errors & Omissions insurance so there's one less bill between finishing your course and taking your first paid inspection.

This is a starter benefit from ISN. It is separate from — and does not satisfy — any insurance your state requires for licensure. Check your state's requirement and carry your own policy.

A Guided Mastermind for New Inspectors

Structured coaching for the part school doesn't usually cover: launching and growing an inspection business. You work through pricing, marketing, client relationships, and operations alongside other new inspectors, with guidance from people who have already built one.

Marketing and Visibility

You get a customizable brochure webpage to send to agents and homeowners, plus a listing in a state-searchable inspector directory so people looking for an inspector in your area can find you.

10 Full-Package 90-Day Warranties

Ten full-package 90-day warranties to offer your first clients — a $200 value, provided at no cost through ISN, with no expiration date on when you use them.

Podcast, Live Support, and Software Training

Access to an industry home inspection podcast, live support when something isn't working, and software training sessions so you're not teaching yourself the platform from a help article.

ISN benefits are provided by Inspection Support Network through our partner program and are subject to their terms. Call us and we'll walk you through exactly what you get and when it starts.

Veterans

Now Approved for GI Bill® Benefits

The Texas Veterans Commission has approved A-Train Academy's Professional Home Inspector preparatory course for GI Bill® benefits, effective June 30, 2026 — so your Texas training can be reimbursed after you finish it.

Here's how it works: you pay for the course up front, complete your coursework and 40-hour practicum, and pass your exams. Then you file for reimbursement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs using VA Form 22-10272, subject to your eligibility and remaining entitlement.

It pairs with our veteran discount, too — take your 15% off any package up front, then file for reimbursement once you're done. Call and we'll walk you through the enrollment documentation you'll need when you file.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at benefits.va.gov/gibill.
