The following steps must be completed to secure your home inspector license in South Dakota:
    –  Complete a pre-approved 40 hour minimum pre-licensing course.
    – Pass the Home Inspector Exam.
    – Apply as a Registered Home Inspector by submitting the proper application.
A registered Home Inspector who has been employed at the registered level for no less than one year and performed at least 100 home inspections for compensation can upgrade the license to Licensed Home Inspector by submitting a completed Experience Log.
