Additional information for becoming a Home Inspector in New Jersey
To secure your home inspector license in Delaware, you must complete the following steps:
- Applicant must possess either a High School Diploma or GED.
- Applicant must complete 180 hours of approved New Jersey Home Inspection Education.
- Note: 40 of the 180 hours of training must consist of unpaid field-based inspections under the direct supervision of a licensed home inspector.
- Applicant must complete and pass the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE).
- Applicant must posses Errors and Omissions insurance equal to or greater than $500,000.
- Applicant may be required to undergo and pass a state-mandated background check.
- Applicant must submit applicant with the initial $125 application fee.
- Note: 40 of the 180 hours of training must consist of unpaid field-based inspections under the direct supervision of a licensed home inspector.
