Additional information for becoming a Home Inspector in Florida
To secure your home inspector license in Florida, you must complete the following steps:
- Complete 120 hours of approved Florida Home Inspection Education.
- Complete and pass one of the following exams:
- The National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE).
- The Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI) Exam.
- InterNACHI Florida Home Inspector Licensing Examination.
- Association of Construction Industry’s Certified Home & Property Inspector Examination (CI-HPI).
- Applicant must provide fingerprints and pass background check.
- Applicant must posses General Liability insurance with a minimum amount of at least $300,000.
- Applicant must submit their application and pay the initial $125 application fee.
- The National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE).
- The Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI) Exam.
- InterNACHI Florida Home Inspector Licensing Examination.
- Association of Construction Industry’s Certified Home & Property Inspector Examination (CI-HPI).
